Ankita Lokhande made shocking revelations while recalling her horrifying casting couch experience while auditioning for a movie
Actress Ankita Lokhande made the headlines for her participation in the 17th season of Bigg Boss. While she was evicted from the controversial reality show as the third runner-up, she became a trending topic of discussion on the internet for her fights with her businessman husband Vicky Jain. During a recent interaction, she went down memory lane and recalled a horrifying experience she went through when she was a teenager. She spoke about facing the casting couch at the age of 19 when she went to audition for a South movie.
Talking about her casting couch experience, during an interview with Hautterfly, Ankita confirmed that such practices still take place in the entertainment industry. Sharing the ordeal she suffered through at the age of 19, the 38-year-old actress stated that she was ecstatic after knowing that she was selected for a film after one audition. She told her mother about the good news and went to sign the film. However, she also started feeling apprehensive about her selection as people go through many rounds of auditions before getting the role. While she went to meet the makers, her casting coordinator was made to wait outside, while she was called in the room alone. The Pavita Rishta actress further recalled, “Jab mai sign karne gayee toh sirf mujhe andar bulaya aur meri co-ordinator ko rukne ko kaha. Mujhe bola gaya, 'you have to compromise.' I was just 19 at the time. Tabhi mera heroine banna hai walla phase chall raha tha.” She expressed that playing smart she asked them what she needed to do. Concluding the question, she stated that she told the concerned person that their producer didn’t want a talent but rather a girl to sleep with. She told them that she is not going to be that girl and walked off. It was then that she decided to not work in films as that experience made her feel low about herself.
